At all September 2010 Local 100 Area meetings and the General Meeting a vote will be held on the proposed bylaws revision concerning the Organizing Assessment. Please be sure to read the Area Meeting news listed below for the date, time and place of these important meetings.
Baltimore Area Meeting
There will be a Special Order of Business at the September 2010 meeting to discuss and vote on the proposed bylaw revision concerning the Organizing Assessment. This meeting will be held September 8, 2010, 7:00 pm at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 7910 Harford Road, Parkville, MD 21234.
Baltimore Area Retiree Meeting
The retirees will meet on September 16, 2010 promptly at 12 noon. Meetings are on the third Thursday of each month at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 7910 Harford Road. Club dues are $10.00 per year! Please join us.

The work outlook for the area is getting better due to the SSM projects getting ready to start in late September/October; remember to utilize the relief fund if you are unemployed. If you would like a contractors list call the hall or log onto the Local 100 website (www.smwlocal100.com) and click on “Contractor List” on the left of the page. You will find contractor information for every area of our Local there. Be prepared to take a drug test and have your dues receipt and HVAC License current and available.
Any members interested in taking a Red Cross Basic First Aid/ CPR/Automatic External Defibrillator certification class call the Hall. We need at least twelve people to participate before this can be scheduled. It takes one Saturday to complete and may save a lifetime of Saturdays. Talk to your coworkers and take it together!
Cumberland Area Meeting
There will be a Special Order of Business at the September 2010 meeting to discuss and vote on the proposed bylaw revision concerning the Organizing Assessment. This meeting will be held September 10, 2010 at 7:30 pm at the Cumberland Eagle’s Club which is located at 40 North Mechanic Street, Cumberland, MD.

Work has picked up for several Cumberland contractors. Hopefully this trend will continue. Potomac Metals is slow and Pro Stainless’ work outlook has improved a little. Thank you to all the members who attended the Building Trades picnic.
Norfolk Area Meeting

Richmond Area Meeting

The next retiree meeting will be September 14, 2010 at 10:30 am at the union hall, 184 E. Belt Blvd., Richmond, VA 23224. Club dues are $10 and are due in September.

Washington, D.C. Area Meeting

Washington, D.C. Area Retirees' Club
The Washington Area Retirees will meet on the bus trip to Harrington, DE on September 14, 2010. The bus is leaving at 11am from the hall, 4725 Silver Hill Rd, Suitland, MD 20746. This trip includes $15 in slot play and a free buffet. Call Bob Phares at (703) 451-3770.
