Welding Certifications and Testing is Monday, October 4 & Tuesday October 5 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 pm. If you are a Washington Area Journeyman and need to be tested or certified call the Training Center to get your name on the monthly list. Sign up two (2) weeks prior to being certified.
Attention Apprentices: If you are a veteran and have a DD214, you may be entitled to Veteran Benefits from the VA Education Benefits Office while enrolled in the on-the-job apprenticeship program. Contact your Veterans Administration Office or bring your DD214 to Ms. Ann at the Training Center and complete VA Form 22-1990.
Attention Washington Area Journeymen: Come in before your certification expires or you’ll have to retest. It is the welder's responsibility to keep their certification updated. If you weld, you may call and ask for the Welder Certification Maintenance Form (BC2103) and have your supervisor complete form and fax back to the Training Center at 301-568-8599. If you are a member of the American Welders Society (AWS) you can send a check for $10 payable to (AWS) along with your card to be updated to the Training Center, Attention Frank Santora. Updates need to be in place before your certification expires.

The Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee is still seeking applications for the apprenticeship program Monday-Friday 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Must be 18 years of age, physically fit to perform the work in the sheet metal trade, pass a drug test and have reliable transportation.
